ALRISHA
Voted European Boat of 2006, the J&V-designed, Hanse 400 has all the attributes of a modern performance cruiser. Judel and Vrolijk, a renowned team of yacht designers with America’s Cup heritage, have created a performance cruiser that is quick and powerful but easy to handle and offers all the comforts needed for enjoyable cruising.
Alrisha, a deep keel Hanse 400e, is new to our fleet in 2022, but not to the West Coast. Her one previous owner took good care of her, as she exclusively explored the West Coast of Scotland.
Her trademark Hanse self-tacking jib provides for very easy and enjoyable sailing. She has a tall mast and generous sail area, making her a quick and powerful boat, despite the relatively small headsail. Close reaching, she is well balanced and quick, pointing high thanks to the tightness of the jib sheeting angle. A little off the wind and she truly flies, with the log remaining above 8 knots in a constant Force 4 plus.
Under power, the 40hp Yanmar diesel, with folding propeller, provides plenty of power for cruising, while spinning so deftly about her keel that manoeuvring into tight marina berths without a bow thruster is easy.
She has an electric winch, which makes hoisting her slab-reefed main effortless. She has a large single wheel and a sturdy binnacle, housing centrally positioned Raymarine plotter/radar and instruments. She also has a DSC radio handset conveniently positioned at the helm. The cockpit is wide and spacious, with cushioned straight seats and there is practical folding table mounted on the front of the binnacle. She has a cockpit bimini with side panels, for when it is necessary to keep out the Scottish weather!
Down below, Alrisha is modern and comfortable. There is 6’5” headroom in the saloon, with comfortable seating for 6, and ample under seat storage. The galley is large with plenty of stowage in numerous lockers and drawers, a double-burner, gimballed cooker with oven and a large top-loading fridge plus a separate, smaller drinks cooler below.
Opposite the galley, the head is roomy with 6’ headroom and separate shower stall with seat. The shower stall makes a good drying area, as it is heated and has plenty of hooks. Alrisha’s effective warm air heating system also heats the saloon and all three cabins, so it will keep you warm and snug, when necessary.
The two double aft cabins provide 6’6” long berths, 6’2” headroom; each has a dressing area with seat and a large clothes locker.
The double forecabin includes a V-berth, dressing area with seat, two large clothes lockers and an on-suite head, with shower. All cabins include USB charging points.
If required, the saloon settee makes a comfortable 7th berth.
The nav-station incorporates a reading light, switch panel, Raymarine DSC Radio, FM/AM Radio and CD Player, 12V power socket and Raymarine Navtex.
Alrisha has a tender (2018) and new (2021) Yamaha 4 stroke outboard motor.
